The Harleysville Football Club is proud to offer TOPSoccer to our community. TOPSoccer ("The Outreach Program for Soccer") is designed for school-aged children with physical, developmental, emotional, and/or cognitive disabilities. This program provides a welcoming, supportive environment for the youth in our community who want to enjoy fun soccer activities but may feel left out of traditional sports programs.
Soccer training, activities, and games are led by caring adults coaches and supported by middle school/high school volunteer buddies. Teams and activity groups are formed based on the age and ability of participants attending each week.
Soccer practices and games are adapted to accommodate every athlete’s unique abilities and motivations while highlighting their individual strengths. Players are paired with Volunteer Buddies who assist them throughout the session. Adaptive equipment will be provided as needed. Everyone who wants to play will be accommodated so they can fully participate!
Field Coaches/Trainers have advanced EPYSA coaching designations, TOPSoccer Coaching Certificates, and/or extensive experience in soccer.
All Buddies attend a pre-season training session to learn the expectations for the season and learn strategies that will assist them in supporting the TOPSoccer athletes.

"My son was in Regular Ed Soccer for one year when he was 4 yrs old. They could not provide the "One on One" teaching that he needs to learn a new task or skill. The Volunteers at Top Soccer have extreme patience and kindness and put fun activities together to help the kids learn about Soccer. My son had fun last Summer and looked forward to going. I wish their were more programs like this one to teach the children a variety of sports. My son especially liked the fact that the teenagers where involved with the program. It is a good experience for the teens that Volunteer also (our future Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, etc.) We are very happy that we found this program for our son. Thank you very much."

"Our youngest daughter has participated in TOPS soccer for several years. Each year it has been an anticipated part of the summer. TOPS has allowed her to participate in a non-competitive, judgement free soccer program. She has fun learning soccer coordination skills and feeling a true part of a sports program. Also, our oldest daughter has been volunteering in the TOPS soccer program as a buddy and enjoys working with the participants and sharing her enthusiasm for soccer."

"TOPSoccer helps out kids with special needs enjoy the exhilarating sport of soccer. We work them through drills, activities, and even introduce some much needed competitiveness with scrimmages. Seeing the smiles on their faces when they succeed warms my heart knowing that I was able to help them achieve this happiness. "

"This will be Tristan's 7th season participating with TOPSoccer. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Coach Debbie, her staff and the young kids that buddy up with our children. They are always there with a smile and new ways to engage our kids in a fun and nurturing environment. We are so grateful that we found this program."
"Our experience with TOPSoccer has been tremendous. Our daughter asks us every year to volunteer & truly looks forward to it. The nature of TOPSoccer is to give children (with varying disabilities) the opportunity to get involved with a sport & the sport is SOCCER. The looks on the children's faces says it all & likewise the looks on the volunteers' faces says it all. This is a program that will help shape the lives of all involved (players & volunteers). I hope this program continues & gains traction. Community involvement like TOPSoccer is what should be on the news."

"I think it is an amazing experience and such a wonderful way for my daughter to learn to be compassionate for others. It's wonderful to see her giving her time to others and developing relationships with children that continue even after soccer is over. "

"Top soccer has been a great experience for me. It has helped me teach kids that aren't like me and also create good memories. These kids are so nice and always have fun with you while learning how to play soccer. It really has impacted my life because it has showed me that I want to help coach kids no matter what they are going through. It has always been a great experience for me and I love going there every year. It has not only been a good chance for the kids to learn soccer, but for me to help them along the way. I love TOP soccer because of the opportunities it has given these kids and all soccer players to help out in their community."
